We began planning this programme because it can be difficult to understand the boundaries of acceptable behaviour in the workplace. There are many reasons for this:
This programme is not a set of rules about how you must behave. It explores issues of professionalism related to the workplace and will help you to think about how you can portray a professional image.
In this course you will explore the basics of commonly accepted professional workplace behaviour; covering aspects such as dress, workplace relationships, effective communication, making decisions, demonstrating trustworthiness, managing conflict and managing peer relationships. You will develop an understanding of your own strengths and how to develop confidence in your own skills as a professional.
The course consists of six lessons: each with a short video clip to illustrate the points raised, some text to read, things to reflect on, exercises to complete and a quiz to test knowledge.
